Famicom Jump: Hero Retsuden (ファミコンジャンプ 英雄列伝 Famikon Janpu Hīrō Retsuden?, the subtitle translates to "History of Heroes") is a 1988 role-playing video game for the Family Computer published by Bandai. The game commemorates the 20th anniversary of Shueisha's manga anthology Weekly Shōnen Jump. Set in a world that brings together many of the long-running titles that had appeared in the magazine, both of the past and present at the time of its release. The game consists of a main character wandering and encountering the many Jump heroes as they try to save the world from an alliance of many of the most powerful and evil of the Jump villains.

Kidō Senshi Z-Gundam: Hot Scramble (機動戦士Ζガンダム・ホットスクランブル Kidō Senshi Zēta Gandamu Hotto Sukuranburu) is a multiplatform video game released by Bandai. The title translates to Mobile Suit Z-Gundam: Hot Scramble and is based on the first Gundam sequel series, Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. Ostensibly piloting the title mobile suit as Kamille Bidan, the games stages are in three parts: first-person shooter levels on the ground, first-person space combat levels in open space giving the illusion of six degrees of freedom, and side-scrolling run & gun platform levels.[1][2] Only one thousand copies were made of the original Nintendo Family Computer version of the game; making it amongst the rarest in all of video game history.

Released on the 29th of March 1991, Hokuto no Ken 4 is another game that was only released in Japan, and only available on Nintendo's Famicom. The game is another role playing game, but has a storyline set after the events of the manga. The world has been plunged into chaos once more and you play as a new character who is part of the Hokuto Soukei bloodline, and wants to become the next successor to Hokuto Shinken. As well as there being many new characters, a few of the characters from the original manga also make appearances, such as Kenshiro and Kuroyasha.

On the 19th of October 1989, Hokuto no Ken 3 was released, only in Japan, and only on the Famicom (Also known as the NES). Unlike the previous two games, which were beat 'em ups, Hokuto no Ken 3 is an RPG and follows the story of the original manga from Kenshiro meeting Bat and Lin for the first time up to his battle with Kaioh in the land of Shura. Certain elements of the story were changed, with a few characters who died in the manga surviving in the game, such as Ein and Ryuken.

Released on the 17th of April 1987, this is the second Hokuto no Ken game for the Famicom, and is an improvement over the dismal first effort. However, despite boasting better graphics and less glitches, the game is still seen as being a poor title, and overshadowed by many other great Famicom games available at the time. Based on the Hokuto no Ken 2 portion of the series, the early release of the game was well before the manga had finished (whilst the anime was only up to the fifth episode) and as such the game only covers the Imperial Capital story, although there is an extra fight against the Nameless Shura if a condition is met by the end of the game.

The first Hokuto no Ken game released on Nintendo's Famicom (a.k.a. NES) hardware arrived on the 10th of August, 1986. Created by Toei (who animated the series), the game is a scrolling beat 'em up with the player controlling Kenshiro and fighting through many enemies and bosses. And as you might expect, the game was a disaster. Featuring bad graphics, awful music, dull gameplay and stupid glitches, Famicom Hokuto no Ken is something only die-hard fans of the series are going to want to play.

Dragon Ball Z Gaiden: Saiyajin Zetsumetsu Keikaku (ドラゴンボールZ外伝 サイヤ人絶滅計画 Doragon Bōru Zetto Gaiden Saiyajin Zetsumetsu Keikaku^?, Dragon Ball Z Side Story: Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans) was released for the Famicom on August 6, 1993.^[3] Gameplay takes the form of a card battle RPG, where the player's movement and battle choices are dictated by the randomly generated playing cards the player receives. Multiplayer is a six player tournament using difficulty level of computer players that are in the save file. Players can choose between Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, Trunks and Vegeta. Winner records are kept in the game data, as well as any moves the player might learn.

Dragon Ball Z: Gekitō Tenkaichi Budokai (ドラゴンボールZ 激闘天下一武道会 Doragon Bōru Zetto Gekitō Tenkaichi Budōkai^?) was released only in Japan on December 29, 1992 for the Family Computer by Bandai. Dragon Ball: Daimaō Fukkatsu (ドラゴンボール大魔王復活 Doragon Bōru Daimaō Fukkatsu^?, lit. Dragon Ball: Great Demon King's Revival) was released in Japan for the Family Computer (Famicom) on August 12, 1988 by Bandai. It takes place during the Piccolo Daimao Saga. It was one of the first games to have a board game, which included battles using cards. The battle card games are a hybrid of role playing games, board games and trading cards. The players move around a game board and encounter characters on the way. Some characters offer information and others need to be battled. The outcome of each fight is determined by the randomly generated hand of cards players and the opponent are dealt. The player flips over cards in a certain order, and their actions are shown in an animated battle that lasts until one of the characters is defeated.

• Known in Japan as Dragon Ball: Shenlong no Nazo (ドラゴンボール 神龍の謎 Doragon Bōru: Shenron no Nazo^?, Riddle of Shenlong), in France as Dragon Ball: Le Secret du Dragon and in Spain only as Dragon Ball, the game was developed by TOSE Software Company and released by Bandai in 1986. The game stars Son Goku and very roughly follows the first two volumes of the Dragon Ball manga, culminating in the first wish from Shenlong. The game consists of 2D overhead areas where Goku must fight many enemies and side scrolling sequences for the boss fights. It was added as bonus feature in the Japanese release of Dragon Ball: Origins 2 in 2010.

• In the USA the game is known as Dragon Power. Although the Japanese, French and Spanish editions of the game used the familiar art and music from the Dragon Ball anime, the US version is stated to be based on Journey to the West with no mention of Dragon Ball.^[2] Goku was changed to more closely resemble an Americanized Kung Fu stereotype, being pictured on the box with a white gi and blue headband. Master Roshi has been similarly changed to look more like a traditional martial arts master.
