PS2 Fullmetal Alchemist 3

In addition to a few tweaks here and there, Square Enix has made one major change to the gameplay for Fullmetal Alchemist 3. The first two titles allowed players to give indirect commands to Alfonso. In the third game, a single button press switches control over to Alfonso, with the CPU then taking control of Ed. While playing as Alfonso, you have access to a variety of attacks and can even reverse the roles and give commands to Ed for a change.
The game seems to require that you use both characters depending on the situation. When fighting, Alfonso moves slower than Ed, but his attacks are more brutal, so you may want to use him when facing a powerful enemy. Ed is more agile and smaller, so he can reach hard-to-reach areas of the levels. Alfonso's armor makes him impervious to electric shock and fire, allowing him to clear certain obstacles.
Both characters have different alchemy abilities, resulting in different items depending on who casts a spell on the barrles, benches and other convertable items located in the levels. You don't have to switch characters to get at a particular item, though, as with a quick button press, you can command the CPU-controlled character to transform an item for you.
